Historical facts:

Early Showa era (late 20s): The founder Ichimura Ichiro opens his business

1943: Ichimura Ichiro dies in battle during WWII

1960 (January): Ichiro`s heir, Sakae, dies in a car accident

1986: Tamagoya becomes the only allowed retailer of "Koshi no Kanbai"（越之寒梅）in the Nothern Kanto region.

1995 (June): "Tamagoya co.ltd" is established with a capital of 7 million yen and two employees

1998 (August): Opening of Tamagoya Yuki store.

2006: Twentieth anniversary as Koshi no Kanbai licensed store.

2008: Tenth anniversary of Yuki store`s opening.

Early Showa: Tamagoya`s ancestor is established

Ichimura Ichiro gathers the eggs from farmers in Ibaraki prefecture and goes to Tokyo to peddle them. His customers love the sake he occasionally takes to town and so he decides to establish a sake store.

1960 February

The current CEO Sakae Ichimura is born in Ibaraki prefecture, Makabe village, Akeno. He is brought up as a rather naughty guy by his uncle, a pleasant "social drinker".

From 1978 to 1980

Sakae Ichimura studies Management Engineering at Ashikaga University. He will drop out after two years.

1978

While studying he opens a fishery in Oyama, Tochigi prefecture

1983

Becomes Tamagoya`s store manager due to his uncle`s illness. He starts wandering all over Japan in order to find breweries willing sign exclusive contracts with him.

1985

He meets a master of Japanese sake in Niigata. There he enlightens about his sake store`s mission and about the way to diversify products. He obtains Koshi no Kanbai`s exclusive contract while there.

1988

He opens the sake store he had always dreamed about in Shimodate (Ibaraki) and achieves the annual turnover of 200 million yen (2 mil $)

1994

Tamagoya co.ltd is established.

1995

He meets Tonemi Takagi,  his lifetime master of management. From him he learns about business strategy and about life in general. It is during this period that he first conceived the idea of "drink life support" business.

1998 (August)

After many mistakes and financial troubles he revises completely his strategy and his life`s goal. He opens Tamagoya Yuki, an ambitious 300 square meter sake store. Here he realizes how to change his business plan from simple retailing to a more sophisticated "drink life support" patterned project.

2003 (October)

TOMU CO.LTD is founded with Tamagoya Yuki as its headquarters, with the purpose of spreading a correct drinking culture around the world, thus moistening people`s hearts and making everyone as happy as possible.
